By focusing on each individual person and not just the footballer we are able to help each player develop themselves into a well rounded young adult. To achieve this we treat every player as a unique person, adapting our methods to their individual personality. Although we coach the whole of the team, we also give individual attention to each player, not only with helping to develop their footballing skills and understanding but also in encouraging them to develop their own personality, whilst providing an environment where respect, trust and ownership of their direction is paramount. Whilst having our own principles, we also believe in working in a community of clubs and coaches to help develop players. We respect and support the important work being carried out by other clubs in the region to support young players' development.

"Knowing the result of a match offers you an indication of how the team performed but it does little to suggest future improvements, identify mistakes and wrong strategies, assess individual performance or identify weaknesses. In any case, the match was either lost or won"
- Michael Kangioglou, Rachael Cooper and Ghasson Aouad (Performance Management in Construction: A Conceptual Framework, 2001)

"In football nothing ever happens in exactly the same way more than once, but lots of very similar things happen a lot. Therefore in order to play the game successfully, players need to find new solutions to these unique problems every time they play football. The consequence of this is that players have to be creative - they have no choice"
- John Allpress, Insight, Summer 2010

"I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career.
I've lost almost 300 games.
26 times I've been trusted to take the
game-winning shot... and missed.
I've failed over and over and over again in my life.
And that is why I succeed."
- Michael Jordan, basketball player

The problem is the intensity of the ‘must-win’ attitude. The desire to
win at every step, rather than develop talent, is a fundamental fault
line in our game. A lot of the games at youth level are just not
beneficial to development. The quality of the football is poor and the
youngsters do not benefit
