What we are looking for

The Development Section will be running Under 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 age groups for the 2011/12 season.

Players born between September 1st 1995 and August 31st 2001are eligible and welcome to try out to join Yate Town Development F.C. for the 2011/12 season.

Age groups we are running

This season we will run the following age groups: -
Under 12's (2010/11 season's Under 11)
Under 13's (2010/11 season's Under 12)
Under 14's (2010/11 season's Under 13)
Under 15's (2010/11 season's Under 14)
Under 16's (2010/11 season's Under 15)

The process

Trials for the new Under 12 age group will run through July 2011.

The final squad will be selected at the start of August 2011.

The Playing Squad for the U13-16 age groups for the 2011/12 season has been selected. However players are welcome to try out at any stage.

The Pre-season period is in late July and through August 2011.

The sessions will be on a grass surface, so please come along with boots/moulded studs/blades/astro turfs, depending on the ground conditions. Shinpads are compulsary.

There will be an indoor Powerpoint presentation at the start of the 1st session of each age group lasting half an hour.

Players can enter the trial process at any stage. However, the sooner they start and the more sessions they attend, the more we will see of them so the more likely they will be selected

Under 12 Trial

The Under 12's trial will run on the following dates: -

Monday 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th July from 6:30-8:30pm at: -

Yate Outdoor Sports Complex,
Broad Lane,
Yate, Bristol.
BS37 7LB.

There will be an indoor presentation at the start of the 1st sesson on the 4th July from 6:30pm.

Under U13, 14, 15 and 16 Trying out

Pre-season training for Under 13's will run on the following dates: - 

Monday 18th, 25th, July ,
1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th August 2011.

Pre-season training for Under 14's, 15's and 16's will run on the following dates: - 

Tuesday 19th, 26th, July ,
2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th August 2011.

All sessions will run from 6:30-8:30pm at: -

Yate Outdoor Sports Complex,
Broad Lane,
Yate, Bristol.
BS37 7LB.

Players can join at any stage of the trial process and will be given at least 2 weeks to impress.  

Organisation

Friendly matches will be organised through the trial period so that players will be able to test themselves in a realistic competitive environment. Trial matches will be internal or against other JPLS or Professional Clubs.

Pre-season training will run through July and August for those accepted into the squad.

Applicants will be sent out full instructions before the start of the trial period

What will you be assessed on?

Coaches will be assessing players on the following: -

1) technical ability
2) tactical awareness
3) stamina
4) speed and strength
5) attitude and discipline
6) commitment

Video footage may be used during the trial process to make sure we have extra evidence to assess the players fairly.

Try to relax during the trial. Although it can be a stressful time, we will not be judging you on every mistake. Instead we are looking for the positives in each player and the potential they have to reach a high standard.

If at any stage during the process you would like to know what you need to do to improve or impress, please ask the coaches and they will do their best to advise.

We are looking for players who have a good attitude to learn, have good potential and are of a good playing ability. we don't just look for the big, strong players. The quotes below shows you how a player with potential may be overlooked at any early age but yet may succeed.

Costs

The trial period is free of cost.

When selected into the squad, players will be required to order their kit online. This will be reuired swiftly to arrive in time for the start of the 2011-12 season. This will cost £99. 
This money will cover a fantastic kit package including: -
Full Home Strip with name and number
Full Away Strip with name and number
Polo T-shirt
Waterproof Jacket with initials
Full Tracksuit
Large Kitbag 

The kit package is fully branded.

Current squad members may choose to pay less money to cover a minimum requirement of full home and away strip.

Players can order extra items at any stage of the season directly from Zapkam online.

From August 2011 to April 2012, season fees will be £40 per month all inclusive.

Selection for matches

Some players will be selected for matches during the trial process. The squad will be listed on the Squad Selection; part of the News section on the website. Once selected, players will be expected to attend. Fixtures will be listed on the fisture list under the individual age group list.

What if I’m on holiday?

Please let the coaches know when you are unable to attend a session or match. This form of courtesy will form apart of the assessment as part of discipline and commitment.

If you are on holiday, we will do our best to give you every opportunity to impress during the remaining sessions you are there.
