Introduction

Some improvements have been made for the 2011/12 season to make sure the experience for everyone at the club is maximised.

This section explains some of the things we are planning to implement to ensure the season is the best yet.

If you have any suggestions, then please e-mail them to woodys1976@hotmail.com and they will be considered. Thank you.

You are also welcome to come to any of the younger age groups to help out with developing the younger players.

Communication

Last season, there was some confusion to the principles of the club, expectations and the organisation, especially with the new younger age groups.

This season we will be regularly communicating to the parents of the younger age groups to make sure that the club and parents can work together to provide the best possible environment for the players. We will also be ensuring much more direct lines of communication with the Parents' Liaison Officers to allow all concerns and questions to be addressed straight away.

All new players and parents will be required to attend a Welcome Meeting before they will be able to start with the club to make sure the are fully aware of how the club supports the players and to make sure the club, players and parents are able to work together for the players.

Training times and venue

From September 2011, the training venue will move to
Marlwood School,
Vattingstone Lane,
Thornbury,
Bristol.
BS35 3LA.
Each session will run from 7:00pm-9:00pm on an excellent 3rd generation surface.

We have moved to this new venue as it is a more realistic and forgiving surface and as we are able to secure the extended session times and have two training nights. This is in response to the feedback from parents who found that getting to training for a 6:00pm start was challenging.
We have extended the length of training to allow us to fit in more into training

Training Structure

Although there were some excellent traning sessions last season and a very good improvement from all the squads, there were some training sessions where the structure and organisation fell below our high standards.

As a result, we will be publishing a more orgnaised structure to each session. This will ensure that each session meets all the preset targets that we expect. we have also increased the number of coaches at the club to seven to make sure every age group has an independant qualified coach and so that there are extra coaches to support at training and matches.

A more structured curriculum will be set for the season (with some flexibility) to allow us to set and meet challenging targets for all the players.

Playing environment

The club will be entering the
Junior Premier League South
for the 2011/12 season.

The following are benefits from transferring entering this new league: -

More consistent and higher standard of opponents

Better Facilities

 Closer travelling

Better behaviour on matchdays from players parents and coaches - all clubs will be policed on their conduct

 Development based
not win at all costs football

 Long term League strategy

 Fewer games postponed

 Better communication between clubs

Clubs must all meet high developmental requirements to be accepted into the league

Last season we were unable to provide as consistent a fixture list as we would have liked. Entering this new league ensure we will be able to provide a much more structured fixture list whilst enmsuring a high standard of opposition each week.

More professional opposition

All our opponents this season will be vetted for their suitablity to play in the league.

Clubs include: -

Bath City
Bristol Rovers Central
Evesham United
Gloucester City
JSSI
Leamington Hibernian
Newport County
North Somerset
Worcester City
Yate Town

Stronger Squads

A good deal of investment will go into ensuring we have a strong depth of players though the age groups.

We have retained a very high standard of players from last season and have attracted interest from a number of very strong players to allow us to strengthen each squad.
