Strategy
To be decisive in the box by taking as many opportunities to shoot as possible, rather than dwelling and taking unnecessary touches.
To read the danger in the box and meet the ball and clear whenever the ball is in the player's vicinity
Practice 1 - Organisation
Group splits into defending and attacking groups
Attacking

Two opposing players stand just outside the box.
Three feeders stand to either side and behind the 2 players
The striker calls 1, 2, or 3 at which time the player passes in front of him to set him up to score.
The striker may make a run to lose his marker before calling for the ball.
If he doesn't think he can score, he may pass the ball back to the feeder and call another number.
As soon as the ball is dead, the striker can call for the ball immediately or change his position before calling for the ball (he doesn't have to stop and go back to his start position but instead keep the practice going to simulate realism).
After 5 attempts at a shot, the players rotate positions.
Defending

3 feeders stand either side and behind the penalty box.
The coach calls 1, 2 or 3 (signalling the feeders)
The appropriate feeder then strikes or volleys a ball into the danger area
The defenders in the box should attempt to volley the ball clear, before clearing the box.
Should the ball reach any of the feeders, they should strike the ball towards goal, punishing the defenders for not pressing the clearance.
Defending Key Points
This practice simulates the desperation of the ball bouncing around in the penalty box. In this situation, the closest man to the ball should make a challenge by immediately moving towards the ball.
The player should use the pace of the ball to clear, by holding his foot/head out early to clear.
The player should look for height, distance and width in that order for a successful clearance. Height is most important. Even with width and/or distance, the feeders can still get a shot away. With height on the ball, it gives our players time to pressure the ball.
Practice 2 - Organisation

This game simulates the mayhem of the ball bouncing around in the box. Two keepers are in each of the goals.
There is a 3v2 in the defending half of either side of the pitch. Players are not allowed outside their zone.
4 players stand on the outskirts of their opponents half but can not enter the pitch. They have a maximum 1 touch per pass.
One of the 2 keepers starts with the ball and can either strike/volley/throw the ball at the opponent’s goal or pass to any of his players (including those on the side lines). Teams then attempt to score within the parameters.
Both teams can score until the ball goes dead.
Once the ball is dead, the ball game is restarted by one of the keepers on the side where the ball went out of play.
After each goal conceded, the keepers/defenders/strikers/sideline players rotate positions. The striker's priority is to use the pace of the ball to get an early shot on target. In the majority of cases, he will be tackled if he controls the ball so should shoot 1st time. The defenders should use the pace of the ball to clear and the nearest man should press and make a clearance.
11v11 Game
Conditions
1) no offside
2) 2 balls in play
These conditions allow there to be lots of scoring opportunities and make it very difficult to defend.
